UNW Photo GallerySnoqualmie Railroad Days - Summer 2003
This event brought our layout to the town of Snoqualmie, WA where the town celebrated its Railroad Days. Keith Lyons brought his motor car as did many other people. The local railroad museum and motor cars offered people rides between Snoqualmie and North Bend.
This line historically was part of the Seattle, Lake Shore, & Eastern Railway that originated in Seattle and terminated in North Bend. Later it became part of the Northern Pacific, and eventually Burlington Northern. BN severed the line between Issaquah and Snoqualmie in the early 1970's, and it became completely isolated once BN abandoned the other connection by way of the ex-Milwaukee between Snoqualmie, Cedar Falls, and Renton. For more information about the Northwest Railway Museum which operates the surviving stretch of track, please visit: http://www.trainmuseum.org/ |
